Individual Therapy

Our first meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other. You may ask me questions you want to know about me and how I work. Then I will ask you to tell me about yourself. I will listen carefully to what you are looking for help with, what you have already tried up until now, and what you know works best for you. I will have questions for you as we go so that I can learn enough by the end of that hour to have a sense of how I can help you.

My style is to actively engage you in the process. I listen, and then offer input to move you towards your goals. I may suggest a particular therapeutic approach for us to use in the treatment such as EMDR or family of origin work. Yet I view how we work together over time as a co-creation and a collaboration.
